Do you need the card to only show data for one category or location? Do you want to show data for all locations except one? Do you want to show everything except one location and one item? This article will show you how you can do all of the above
You can filter on both metrics and dimensions. When you add a default filter onto a dimension (e.g. location or product item), you lose the ability to have a visible filter with a drop down be available on the card, so if you regularly need to adjust the parameters for the dimension you are filtering a default filter may not be the correct solution.
When filtering ensure that you spell the desired dimension correctly as they are case sensitive.
To add a default filter you need to click on the settings cog beside the metric or dimension that you would like to filter:
The field that you want to filter on needs to also be present as either a Filter, Row, Column, or Value
If you do not want it to be visible, if it is a Row, Column or Value you can also toggle to hide it.
To add a default filter you need to press the “+ Add default filter” button on the desired field and then choose the condition that best suits your filtering needs:
“In” and “not in” are opposites for an exact match, so you can enter the entire location or item name depending on the field.
“Contains” and “does not contain” will include all items with a partial match. So for example, if all your locations that are kiosks have “Kiosk” in the name, it will show all kiosk locations under the “Contains” condition, and exclude all of them under the “does not contain” condition.
