A question we often get asked is “Why doesn’t every view have all the possible available fields all at once, always?”.
The reason for that is that this significantly increases the complexity of building a card, increases the time it takes to bring the data within the card, and aggregate or aggregate and calculate the data that is needed. Additionally, everyone has all the modules at once, and not all forms of data are compatible with all forms of presentation. For example, sales, labour and reservation can be granular all the way to hourly, whilst inventory data is usually only possible to be viewed by day.
There are for example card views for sales that have nearly all the applicable sales fields available within them such as 270: Ticket Items and 241. Whilst using these cards will allow you to bring in a lot of detail to the reports, due to the amount of data they render, it is important not to make them cover very long date ranges as it is possible to have a time out error on a card that is will try to bring in too much data all at once.

Choosing the right view:
You can select the underlying data that you need, so if you know you need both labour and sales data to be available for you report, you need to ensure you tick both of them. Additionally on the metrics and dimensions dropdown you can select the ones you want to be available and present on the report that you are trying to build. It is important to remember that not all card views have all the metrics and dimensions available, so if no card views are returned you may need to remove some of them and test and preview them.
Data Previews:
When you are on the Card Creator View selector, you can preview all the available fields of the card and data that is available with your integration by clicking the “Preview” button, this will in turn render out all the data fields of that view with your data, and you can horizontally scroll to see them all if they do not all fit on screen at once:
Happy card building!
