User Groups are the way you define what data and reports each Tenzo User should have access to.
Note: this feature is currently in Beta. If you don't have access to this on your account yet, please contact your CSM.
What do User Groups determine?
- What dashboards a user sees in their side menu;
- Which recurring emails a user receives;
- What permissions they have, which dictates:
- What modules they can see in their side menu; e.g. Sales, Labour, Inventory.
- What data they are able to see; e.g. transactions, employees, etc;
- What product features they have access to; e.g. card wizard, dashboard creator;
How do I manage User Groups?
If you are an Administrator of your account, you will see the option “User groups” in your Admin section:
How do I create a new User Group?
- Create New Group:
2. Populate the following values:
-
- Group Name
- Users: who belongs to this group; you can also set this up at a later stage;
- Dashboards Pinned: what the user sees on their side menu;
- Email Subscriptions: the emails the user automatically receives;
- Permissions: the data the user has access to;
3. Click "Save".
How do I add a User to a User Group?
There are 2 ways to do this:
- Create a User Group > Add the Users in the User Group page; or
- Create a new User or Edit an existing one > Select the User Groups you’d like them to belong to.
Can I add a User to multiple User Groups?
Yes, all our User Groups are additive.
This means that users can belong to several user groups at the same time.
Let’s explore this with an example:
- James is a GM, and when he joins Tenzo he belongs to the default “Users” group.
This gives James access to:-
- All Tenzo Modules; and
- “Business Performance Overview” Dashboard.
-
- You also add James to a new “General Managers” group. This gives him access to:
- “General manager” dashboard; and
- “GM daily email” recurring email.
- As a result, James will have the settings from both groups. He will have access to:
- All Tenzo Modules;
- “Business Performance Overview” Dashboard;
- “General manager” dashboard; and
- “GM daily email” recurring email.
User Groups are editable at any time.
If you have any questions or feedback about how to create, edit and assign User Groups, feel free to ask your Customer Success Manager or email us at any time at support@gotenzo.com.
